Ames, Iowa. December 8, 2011. The Gateway Hotel and Conference Center at Iowa State University and Friends of ISU Hotel Holdings, LLC today announced that Flourish Hospitality, LLC has been hired as the new hotel manager and operator of the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center at Iowa State University.
Flourish is based out of Des Moines, Iowa and the Flourish management team has experience managing numerous hotels, conference centers and restaurants in the central Iowa area, including the Hotel Fort Des Moines and Conference Center, the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel and Conference Center in Johnston, the Marriott Town Place in Johnston, the Holiday Inn Express in Altoona, Centro restaurant in downtown Des Moines, Django, the Raccoon River Brew Pub, Zombie Burger and other well known restaurants. Flourish is led by Paul Rottenberg.
The mission of the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center at Iowa State University is to support Iowa State University and Gateway's central Iowa hotel, conference center, and restaurant customers. Selecting a local hotel, conference center and restaurant management company was a very important consideration for Gateway and Friends. The hotel manager will now be local and already in the area and accessible to the hotel, conference center, restaurant and the employees of the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center.
The transition from the current hotel manager to the new hotel manager will be completed February 1, 2012.
Friends is an Iowa limited liability company formed by a group of Iowa State University alumni and supporters who originally built the Gateway Hotel along with former members of the Board of Directors who have served on the Gateway Hotel Board of Directors. Friends is committed to providing a first class hotel and conference facility owned by people who are supporters of lowa State University and its mission.
